Log Out and Log In to Life for Mother’s Day

Any blogger knows just how much time is spent online, whether that is spending an hour or two writing a blog post, editing pictures to post on your blog, or the 30 minutes checking in on Facebook or pinning pictures to Pinterest.  Every minute spent online adds up throughout the day, and before you know it, a significant amount of time is spent online.  These days, smartphones make it way to easy, I don’t even need to wait until I get home to update my blog, or check on my family and friends status updates on Facebook.

I love doing this but I also love doing the small things, like enjoying the sun outside and spending time with family or going to the park or even just taking my dogs for a walk around the neighborhood.  As a new mom, my days are pretty crazy and I think most of us moms sometimes do not think we have time to really enjoy the day or relax because there is so much to do.

Well this Mother’s Day, I am logging out and logging into my life.  I am going to participate in the Social Blackout Movement!  It’s a simple little initiative that MetLife announced on their website and Facebook to bring Mom’s, Dad’s and kids together this Mother’s Day.  There is even an event page to RSVP to remind you when the day comes!  You can check it out here – Mother’s Day Social Blackout.  Mother’s Day should be important and not seen as just another day.  It should be spent with your family and other loved ones.  Make it a point this Sunday to really checkout of cyber world and really tune yourself into your loved ones around you.  As a new mom I don’t have a Mother’s Day ‘routine’ so to speak so this is the first year that we will really be celebrating.  Last Mother’s Day my R was just 10 days old, so this Sunday I am really going to enjoy my time with her as her mom.

Can you spare a day logging out of cyber world?  How will you spend your day?
