ANOTHER YEAR OVER – REFLECTIONS OF 2013

2013

2013 has been one of my BEST years of my life. That’s not to say there haven’t been struggles because there have, but the good has definitely outweighed the bad. And to me, that’s a success.

When you read my blog and the stories I write about my family, know that you are only seeing a tiny glimpse of what my life is all about. Usually just the highlights. That doesn’t mean our little life is perfect and that we don’t experience the road blocks that other families face, it just means that I try to focus on the good and what brings me happiness. That’s what I like to share.

So let’s take a look at some moments that have brought me some joy this past year. ðŸ™‚

In May I decided to Start a Blog!! I am so grateful that I did. I had no idea where this would take me, but so far, in this short amount of time, I have been able to connect with some amazing people. The desire that we have as mothers, to come together and support one another through this journey is nothing like I expected.

It was also in May that my little girl turned one. Her birthday planning was actually one of my inspirations for starting my blog.

It was a Minnie Mouse themed first birthday of course. And it’s still Minnie to this day. I don’t look forward to the day when she can tell me when she thinks she’s too old for Minnie. :/

Being able to celebrate my baby girls birthday was a dream come true. Ittook us three years. So this first birthday celebration had been a long time coming. Read: My Infertility Scare.

The other big celebration we had in 2013 was our wedding. ðŸ™‚ Something we had been planning for a long time, but you know how it goes, babies come when they want. ðŸ™‚

Two months after my oldest daughter’s birthday and less than four weeks after our wedding, I had become a mom of two when we welcomed our second blessing into the world.

Two little ones now, in diapers. Mommy Confessions – The Reality was written for me, for you, for all the mothers out there who may have felt like I did. Realizing that being a mom was officially the hardest job in the world.

The truth about motherhood

 Hard but wonderful.

And then seeing the bond between them…made it all worth it.

We don’t take picnics often. But it was a day at the park that made me realize that sometimes we need to slow down and take it all in, otherwise we might miss the tiny, fleeting moments that really matter. Read: Slow Down and Just Be.

To be honest, another blessing this year is YOU. My readers. I write for myself just as much as I write for all of you. Every time I hit the publish button I hope that something I have written that day has touched someone in some way, given encouragement to or maybe just made someone laugh. Know that I appreciate every comment, every like on Facebook or follow on Pinterest or Instagram. I don’t take any of it for granted.

I can’t wait to see what 2014 brings.

Happy New Year to you and your family!
