Sometimes the best Halloween treats are not candy! We have three kids in our family and we always mix our Halloween snack bags up with candy and non-food item treats. We have food allergies and sometimes we can’t eat everything everyone else is eating, so it’s a great option to add to treat bags because according to the FARE website, at least 1 in 13 children are allergic to at least one type of food.
Candy is fun of course, but non-food items will last way longer! Here are some of our favorite things to stick into our trick-or-treat basket, give out to our classrooms or put in party bags.
- Handout Play-doh’s – this is a 42 pack and they are a perfect size for any treat bag or simply use as a hand-out on Halloween.
2. Fidgets – My kids can’t get enough of fidgets. You can get a large bag like this one that has 50 pieces. You can add one to each treat bag in a classroom and still have some leftover for trick-or-treaters.
3. Pencils & Stamps – Pencils and stamps will go along way. I don’t know about you but my kids go crazy for stamps. It seems like the simplest thing but they love to stamp paper, themselves or each other. 🙂
4. Glow in the dark rings and necklaces – Perfect for Halloween night or even a party. My kids love anything that lights up.
5. Squishies – Are your kids obsessed with anything squishy? My kids are. They love these things and these are small enough to fit in any treat bag!
6. Temporary Tattoos – These are so fun! And perfect that they are Halloween themed!
7. LED Light-up rings – Going back to whatever light’s up is awesome. My kids find these things so much fun to wear.
8. Slime – My kiddos love slime, and these are extra neat because they are Halloween themed, but you can find them usually in other themes or even scents.
9. Haunted House Craft Kit – You probably shouldn’t buy an entire classroom on of these as these are one of the bigger items on our list, but perfect for your own family.
10. Halloween mini-coloring books – What kid does not like to color? These mini-Halloween coloring books are the perfect size to give out for trick-or-treaters or even to a classroom.
